British-Eritrean, Bangkok-born Desta's journey as a vocalist, songwriter and music enthusiast to date has been eclectic and international.  She has performed her own music as a solo artist from Manila to Dar es Salaam, and has worked as a backing vocalist for many artists including Joe Bataan, Baloji and Zap Mama. She has designed and delivered creative music & theatre workshops for the International School Theatre Association since 2005 to thousands of young people and represented Eritrea in Universal Music's Earth Orchestra project, due for release in 2020.  She has curated

playlists for various venues, some of which you can explore on her Spotify channel. Besides performances, studio writing and recording sessions, Desta runs Languages through Music, creating language & music workshops for festivals like Africa Utopia (Southbank Centre) and Afropolitan (BOZAR).
